(My friend Marisa holding my tacky-but-amazing New Years Eve shoes)

I think it would be suffice to say that 2012 was the best year of my life. I graduated from college (with honors!) and lived out one of my life long dreams by visiting eighteen countries in three months. Of course my year also had some low points - two events specifically come to mind that caused me to go through some of the hardest emotional pain I've ever had to deal with. Overall though I learned a lot, changed a lot, and definitely consider 2012 to be a big turning point in my life.

Sadly, I can't imagine 2013 coming anywhere close to it 2012 for me. But, on an optimistic note, 2013 leaves a lot open for me. I'm at a crossroads right now where I can essentially do whatever I want to do! I have no commitments and no set plans. It's a scary place to be, but it's also kind of amazing. I just hope I make the most of it.

I'm not the type of person who makes resolutions, mainly because I never keep them. I heard a statistic somewhere that said only 10% of people actually accomplish their resolutions throughout the year! That being said, I do always have constant goals and dreams that I'm working towards. I've talked about some bigger goals on here already (traveling more, going to grad school) but here's some smaller goals I'm hoping to accomplish:

1) Stop swearing as much (lol @ how hard I will fail at this)
2) Make an effort to look nicer on a daily basis
3) Get back into longboarding, hiking, and biking, and generally being more active
4) Read more & spend less time on the internet
5) Get on a better sleep schedule
6) Keep up this blog!

I'm keeping my list short and sweet so I don't cry when I fail miserably overwhelm myself!

I hope all my readers had a lovely new year! I bid you all good luck on accomplishing all your resolutions this year, whatever they may be.
