Stopping by Brussels

When we arrived in Brussels, we had one mission: to eat as much delicious food as possible. Specifically: waffles, chocolate, fries & beer (I'm not a beer fan, but Angelina & Mark were all up on it.) After spending a good hour and a half trying to figure out the metro, we arrived at our hostel and immediately headed downtown to cross off waffles and beer off our list. First, waffles (and Belgian hot chocolate!)

Toppings: melted chocolate, strawberries, whipped cream & nutella. My inner fat person died of a heart attack afterwards but it was glorious.

Then we spent the rest of our evening hanging out at the famous Delirium Bar. They have over 200 types of beer!

The next day we walked everywhere. Brussels is really charming, although definitely not what I was expecting. I thought it would be more quaint, but it's got a big city feel to it. That being said, there are so many cute shops and restaurants to explore, and the people were generally friendly.

(Me being extra special under a bridge)

 We also toured this:

The Atomium. It's like Belgium's Eiffel Tower - sadly, I had never even heard of it before we got there, but it was really cool and had an amazing view of the city.

Our stay was short, but we managed to check everything off our list of things to do (a.k.a our list of things to eat) and even managed to do some actual sightseeing. Great success!
